Allston/Brighton
With Boston University to the east and Boston College to the west, students largely populate this area. Subway T's Green B and C lines and bus routes make it easy to travel to downtown and Harvard University.

You can find many groceries and restaurants in Allston's intersection of Commonwealth and Harvard Avenues and also in the Cleveland Circle intersection of Beacon Street and Chestnut Ave. The popular type of rental properties in these areas are 4 - 5 story brick buildings. Back Bay
Back Bay, which runs from Public Garden to Massachusetts Ave. along the Charles River, was originally reclaimed using earth and sand that cut through Beacon Hill. You can see many traditional streets of Victorian style townhouses and red brick houses, while the shopping district of Newberry Street is crowded with modern restaurants, bars, boutiques and hair salons. This area is very popular with foreign students attending language schools such as Emerson and Fisher College.

Most of Boston's Back Bay was originally swamp and harbor. After being filled some of the city's most beautiful architecture sprang forth. Fenway / Kenmore
Boston University, Simon College, Berklee College of Music is located in this area filled with many student residents. Also located in this area are the Boston and Gardner Museums, Back Bay Fenway Park [ Fenway ] and a baseball field loved by local people. The famous "Babe Ruth" lived in this area. Clubs, game centers and pool bars located next to each other in Kenmore Square is a popular spot among the students. This area can be unsafe at times. This area takes pride in its 350 years or more history although it reflects a modern community. It is famous for being the birthplace of Samuel Wilson where the name "Uncle Sam" originated from and the first Public Children's Library. Convenient buses provide access to Harvard and Boston. Located in the north part of Boston, Cambridge is a college town where world- famous educational institutions such as Harvard and MIT, students, professors and researchers reside.
